Method and technique
Canvaloop collects agricultural by-products such as hemp, banana, and pineapple leaves, which are typically discarded after harvesting. These plant fibers are grown with minimal water and pesticides compared to traditional fibers like cotton, making them more sustainable from the start. The plant materials are processed to separate the fibers from the rest of the plant. Canvaloop uses mechanical method called decortication to refine the raw fibers. The processing of Canvaloop’s fibers uses significantly less water. Once the fibers are treated, they are spun into yarn. Canvaloop may blend its plant-based fibers with other natural or recycled fibers to create textiles with specific properties such as softness, strength, or durability. The spun yarn is woven or knitted into fabric. Canvaloop ensures that this stage follows sustainable practices, including energy-efficient machinery and minimal water consumption. The fabrics are dyed using non-toxic, low-impact dyes, and treated with eco-friendly finishing processes to enhance their feel, durability, and appearance without polluting waterways or using harmful chemicals. Canvaloop fibers are used to make a variety of products, including apparel, home textiles, and industrial fabrics. The natural fibers are breathable, durable, and biodegradable, making them an excellent alternative to conventional synthetic fibers. The company offers tailor-made solutions for fashion brands looking for sustainable alternatives, providing fabrics that meet specific requirements in terms of texture, strength, and eco-credentials.
