Forests by Heartfulness Our primary goal is to plant at-least 30 million native and endemic trees across India by 2025. In order to achieve this goal, a team of forestry, agro-forestry and climate experts are guiding the project and will continue to do so for the next 5 years. Under their guidance, as a first step, nurseries are being developed in 18 cities across the country. Saplings of carefully selected tree and plant species are raised in these nurseries during non-plantation season every year between October & May. Mass plantation of these saplings takes place every year between June – September (monsoon) and Jan – Feb (late winter). This will be carried out by the Heartfulness volunteers, farmers, NGOs, school children and general public. Planted saplings will be effectively monitored and nurtured by providing optimum conditions for growth to ensure high survival rate. FBH has already conducted a successful mass plantation drive in the year 2019 covering 64 cities – 64,000 trees – in one day through its volunteers and its partnering organizations

Forests by Heartfulness, an initiative of the Heartfulness Institute, employs sustainable and community-driven approaches to reforestation and ecosystem restoration. They focuses on planting native and climate-resilient tree species to restore natural biodiversity & engages local communities, volunteers, and organizations to participate in large-scale planting efforts. They uses Miyawaki method to create dense, multi-layered forests that grow 10 times faster and are 30 times denser than traditional methods. By combining tree planting with agricultural practices, they enable farmers to enhance soil fertility and improve crop yields and supports sustainable livelihoods through the cultivation of fruit-bearing and medicinal trees. They create seed balls containing seeds, soil, and nutrients for easy planting in inaccessible or degraded areas. Efficient Germination techniques are using to protect seeds from pests and enhances the chances of germination, especially in challenging terrains. Regular monitoring of the growth and survival of planted trees, ensuring their long-term viability. They collaborate with local governments, corporations, and non-governmental organizations for large-scale reforestation projects and provide education on sustainable forestry, biodiversity conservation, and climate action to local communities and volunteers.
