It comprises a wide variety of products: grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, spices, cold-pressed oils, and natural sweeteners. There are also dried fruits, snacks, and fresh produce on offer. Buffalo Back directly sources from the most marginalized small-scale farmers and community businesses, enabling these producers to create steady, viable markets for the growth of native crops and the production of minimally processed traditional foods. This model empowers sustainable agriculture with fair trade practices and promotes health for people through their foods. This cooperative organizes farmers' markets, community-supported agriculture programs, and other community-focused projects to help promote this mission. Being a nonprofit Section 8 corporation, all of Buffalo Back's surpluses are reinvested toward furthering their mission and community impact.
